Radford operates its own publicly owned electric utility. The city purchases wholesale power and distributes it to residential, commercial, and industrial customers within city limits.

Equal Payment Plan
Residential customers with at least one year of service are eligible for an equal monthly payment plan. Payments are based on your 12-month average usage. Contact the Treasurer\u2019s office at (540) 731-3661 to enroll.

Electric Meter Accuracy
Request a meter accuracy test (once per 12 months). $25 charge applied to next bill.
Setting Up New Service

Complete a utility application (available in person, by mail, fax, or email — not available online)

Provide a picture ID with your application

Pay the required deposit ($200 electric, $50 water) or provide a letter of credit from a previous utility provider

Original signatures required — computer-generated signatures are not accepted

After processing, you’ll receive a customer ID and account number for online payments

Disconnection for Non-Payment
If your service is scheduled for disconnection, you must pay the full amount due plus a $25 delinquent collections fee. If no deposit is on file, the full deposit must also be paid before service is restored. Contact the Treasurer\u2019s office at (540) 731-3661 for payment instructions.
