Bisset Park

49 Berkley Williams Drive · 100 acres

Radford's flagship park along the New River. Features soccer fields, tennis courts, sand volleyball, three picnic shelters, a playground, gazebo, and direct river access for fishing and kayak/canoe launching.

Wildwood Park

Off Connelly's Run · 50 acres

A wooded ravine in the heart of Radford — a wildlife and plant reserve featuring paved bikeways along a stream, hiking trails on forested hillsides, a bird-watching tower, and an outdoor classroom used by Radford University and Radford High School.

Riverview Park

West end of Radford, along the New River

Located along the New River in west Radford, primarily used for recreational league practices. Offers boat launches for river access — a popular spot for fishing smallmouth bass and muskie.

Riverway Trail

A 3.5-mile paved bikeway/walkway running along the New River, connecting Bisset Park to Wildwood Park. Popular for walking, jogging, and biking with scenic river views and wildlife sightings.

The New River

One of the oldest rivers in North America, flowing 320 miles through North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Radford's stretch is excellent for fishing (smallmouth bass, muskie — site of state-record catches), kayaking, canoeing, tubing, and floating.

  • Bisset Park — kayak/canoe launch, wade fishing near Route 11 bridge

Recreation Center & Programs

The Radford Recreation Center offers fitness rooms, a gym, indoor track, racquetball courts, and a computer lab. Membership is available for residents.
