Radford University, NRV Community Services team up to tackle maternal health crisis in rural Virginia

Radford University's nursing program and New River Valley Community Services are bringing free maternal health resources directly to rural communities. The partnership aims to address gaps in maternal care as Southwest Virginia hospitals shutter maternity and baby care units. Free services include maternal health screenings, baby care supplies, blood pressure/glucose/urinalysis checks, mental health screenings. The May 15 event at 401 W. Main St., Radford will also launch Radford University Cares mobile health clinic partnering with Anthem Health Keepers.
