RU and NRV Community Services Launch Mobile Health Clinic
Radford University's nursing program and NRV Community Services launched "Radford University Cares," a mobile health clinic providing free maternal health resources, screenings, and baby care supplies to rural Virginia communities.
On May 15, 2026, Radford University's nursing program partnered with New River Valley Community Services to address the maternal health crisis in rural Virginia. The launch event at 401 W. Main St. in Radford offered free health screenings, mental health resources, and baby care supplies.
The event also marked the launch of "Radford University Cares," a new mobile health clinic operated in partnership with Anthem Health Keepers. The clinic provides clinical training opportunities for nursing students while expanding healthcare access in underserved rural areas of the region.
The initiative aligns with the university's recently formed Center for Rural Health Partner Council and its broader strategic plan, "Shaping Tomorrow — Together," which emphasizes community partnerships and regional economic development.
