Radford man arrested and charged with sexual assault after investigation

Radford man Bryant Weaver arrested for sexual assault, strangulation, and other charges after Oct. 1 incident on Forest Ave.

A Radford man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and numerous other crimes following a sexual assault investigation conducted by Radford City Police. The investigation began after the assault was reported on Oct. 2. The victim was providing a cleaning service to a residence in the 200 block of Forest Ave. in Radford when the assault occurred on the afternoon of Oct. 1. Bryant Weaver was identified as the suspect. Weaver was arrested and charged with 5 counts of strangulation, distribution of Schedule I/II substances, 2 counts of forcible sodomy, attempted rape, abduction with attempt to defile, assault and battery. Weaver is currently held without bond at New River Valley Regional Jail.
