Radford City Police arrest man after shots fired in the air

Brent J. Thompson arrested after firing gun into air during altercation on Fairfax St, charged with multiple firearm offenses, DUI, and assault.

Radford City Police responded to a report of shots being fired May 29, 2025 in the 500 block of Fairfax St. An altercation took place during which Brent J. Thompson brandished a gun and fired it into the air. No injuries were reported. Thompson was located and arrested in the 1800 block of East Main St. He was charged with brandishing a firearm, reckless handling of a firearm, DUI, willful discharge of a firearm, and assault & battery. Thompson is being held without bond.
