Man Arrested in Radford Sexual Assault Investigation

RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ) - A man was arrested Friday in connection to a Radford sexual assault investigation, according to the Radford Police Department. Police say Bryant Sylvester Weaver has been charged with five counts of strangulation, distribution of a schedule I/II drug, two counts of forcible sodomy, attempted rape, abduction with the intent to defile, and assault and battery. According to police, officers were investigating a sexual assault that occurred on October 1 in the 200 block of Forest Avenue where the victim was allegedly providing a cleaning service to Weaver when the assault occurred. Police say Weaver allegedly committed numerous crimes and was arrested on Friday, October 4. Weaver is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond.
